This is a sketch of Nadine, the light starship commanded by Novalae Fendo. Nadine has an advanced AI, just like any bot, and just like any bot has personality traits and quirks of her own. However, she is hardwired to obey the commands of her captain regardless of the circumstances.

Nadine was originally the lightly armed civilian version of a military vessel, but since has been outfitted with a range of armaments and countermeasures and her leisure modules gutted and replaced with extra storage holds to facilitate extended outings.

It flies

Initial concept sketch for a bot character named Zayd who plays an important role in part 1 of the story. He can fly very fast.

Flak & Nova

Dannen "Flak" Dub'lon and Novalae Fendo (left to right). These two have been crewmates for nearly a decade, since Nova was a child. Nova is something of a gadgeteer, equipped with a range of technology that aids her in nearly any situation. Flak is an expert interrogater, as well as a scientist with advanced knowledge of chemistry, robotics, and A.I. Both are expert marksmen.

Ancient Cyborg

Early concept sketches of the "ancient cyborg" in the first scene. I'm not sure how practical it is to have cannons instead of hands, but the idea sorta gripped me -- And besides, maybe he's got some digits that fold out of a compartment or some such if he needs to do anything dexterous.
